Madhesh and
Susan had their good time with their love. Madhesh usually hang out with girls
often, he used to call me for accompanying him. I refused all time but, this
time I couldn’t resist accompanying him. The reason why I agreed was JENI. If Madhu had me on his side then
Susan will definitely go with Jeni and it is what I certainly expected. On our
first meet after the proposal. I found a best difference. Before the proposal,
Madhu used to sit next to me and Jeni with Susan. But that day, Madhu sat next
to Susan and I sat next to Jeni.
I liked
those moments sitting next to her. I will be looking over her all time.
Sometimes there will be some romantic conversation between Madhu and Susan, at
that time, Jeni will turn to me. When Jeni looks at me, my eyes will
automatically make rotation in all directions with a constant speed.
The whole
school came to knew how Madhesh proposed Susan. Many would tease him, whenever
I teased him he laugh. When some of girls teased him, his eyes closed and his
face changes to a shy face.
Everything
was good, whenever there was a start in a relationship, there will be someone
who hates them for being couple. Same thing came for Madhu too. One day, I and
Madhu had a walk on ground. A tall boy with face in which pimples covered his
entire cheeks, he had half tugged his shirt and his pant were almost below his
waist. The tall boy stood with another boy who is little fat one with chubby
cheeks but certainly, he was not cute for me at that time.
The little
fat one shouted, “I am your friend”.
The tall
one, “No, I need you baby”.
“Accept me
as your friend”, the little fat boy shouted again. Madhu stopped on hearing
this and made his steps slowly so that he remain in that radius. The tall one
was saying, “I need you, I love you”
“I like you
as a friend”, the fat one said with an act like sobbing.
“You are so
attractive, I can’t take you as friend please understand”, the tall one knelt
down and started to beg.
Madhu was at
his greatest temper. He walked straightly towards them and I made my steps
behind him. I was afraid that he would start a quarrel, but he acted
differently. He suddenly turned in opposite direction and made me turn by
rotating me.
“Nithish
lets go that way some guys are having their own time”, Madhu said to me in loud
voice and he added, “Sorry I had misspelt as GUYS”. Madhu started to
walk, I took each and every step by looking back at them. Suddenly I heard
those steps closer. I turned back, the tall boy was faster he pushed Madhu from
back and made Madhu to fell down. Without second thought I grabbed his collar
with my left hand gave a punch on his face.
On my punch
he stepped two steps back by holding his hand over the punched part. Meanwhile
the little fat one held my hands back and grabbed me tighter such that I can’t
move. I tried to push him back but I was lighter than him. The tall one took
his steps straight to me. I expected his punch, my eyes got his direction of
punch. I planned for a counter attack by dodging. I waited for the tall one
hand to near me so that I could escape from it. His hand neared my face, now I
dodged. The little one got a punch it was what I planned for unexpectedly, I
got that punch even I dodged.
Madhu, who
got himself up from ground and grabbed the tall one. Both are jostling each
other. These things took only 2 minutes and the crowd gathered around at once.
In crowd some Good Samaritan boys grabbed me and the tall one. A little girl
from crowd, “Oops! I expected a fight here, I could have come a minute ago”.
“Dude, it’s
not a men fight it’s a nerd fight”, another girl said to that little girl.
“GET LOST”,
the tall one said with a starring look over that little girl. The girl had a
scary look on seeing him. She looked at me with the same scare. I smiled at her
with my red swollen left cheek. She smiled and ran away from crowd.
All of us
calmed down, as usual the PT sir came after the crowd separated us. A boy from
crowd said, “This brother”, by pointing me and added by moving his pointing
hand to tall one, “and this brother were fighting each other sir”. “I didn’t
did anything”, tall one hurried.
“Sir, I too
didn’t did anything sir”, I too hurried after the tall one said.
“He started this”, both said at same
time at different tone by pointing each other. He told the crowd to move up and
the crowd dispersed. Madhu and the little fat one stayed. “Move to class”, PT
sir said to them by beating his own hand in a gentle manner with a scale. He
spoke with me and the tall one and asked the reason.
I was afraid that the tall one would
spill any words about Madhu’s relationship. I told him that, it was a quarrel
and I was the reason for it. PT Sir asked why. Tall one managed it by saying
that I dashed him on the way and said, “Sir, he dashed me on the way and he
keep walking on his way. I asked him to ask sorry. But he behaved rudely so I
too behaved in such a way”. PT sir believed his story and asked us to behave
properly.
I was in
great anger over Madhu, if kept calm it would not have happened. I hurried to
Madhu’s class, Madhu was not there. I knew where he will be. I went to my class
where I saw him explaining what happened on ground to Jeni and Susan.
Jeni ran to
me and her eyes became tiny. She was looking over my swell. I wished her to
tend my swell, “Ouch!” I said. She bit her teeth and opened her mouth and asked
me, “Is it hurts?”
I nodded.
“Rascal, don’t you bear this small pain”, she laughed and pinched my swelled
cheek. I shouted OUCH with the pain.
“Now the words comes from pain”, she said with a teasing tone and ran to our
bench and asked me to come. I sat next to
her, she searched something inside her bag. I thought she would have some
ointment or anything else. Her hands came out of the back as empty. She looked
at me and asked, “Do you have eraser?” It was a great disappointment to me. I
expected an ointment or something else but she was searching for an eraser. I left
my expectations because of a rubber.
Madhu left
the class and the class started, I was still thinking over it and not in a good
mood to talk with Jeni too. Suddenly something touched my left cheeks. My left
shoulders raised and Jeni’s hand was there. She held an eraser, she scratched
my cheek gently such that it won’t pain.
“I erased
your pain”, she said and wrinkled. Her eraser with her smile took my pain away
from me by replacing a smile inside me. She is not just a girl she is something
special in my life. She is my smile bringer often.
At lunch,
Susan came to me, “Can we hang out?” she asked.
“Why not we
will go on Sunday”, I said.
“Not Sunday.
I asked for today”, Susan ended and waited for my reply. I turned to Jeni, she
moved her head gently to and fro. I took that as a signal for saying OK. I told
that I would hang that evening.
We usually
gather under a tree on every evening to say good bye. Madhu named that tree as
‘MEETING
TREE’. It was a big tree which stood as shelter for 4 groups of friends
below it, we are one among them. Susan and Jeni will be going home in their
car. I then realized if we hung out what would driver do? I asked, “Jeni where
is your car?”
“We asked
him to pick us at café at 5 don’t worry we will look after us”, Jeni said and
folded her hands. We waited for Madhu. On seeing him, I moved with him to take
my cycle from parking. We pedaled under that tree. I got down and stood near
Jeni.
Madhu
removed his bag from back and wore it from front side and made place for Susan to sit
over the carrier. She climbed over the carrier, and shouted, “Let’s Go Romeo” and made her legs to
float on air, and held Madhu shoulders. I and Jeni were watching them until
they disappear from our vision.
“I too need
moments like this”, Jeni said with a lovely tone.
“I can’t help you with it”, I crossed
her line.
“I didn’t asked you to”.
Both laughed. We started to walk, by
making my cycle to walk besides me on right side and Jeni was walking right to
the cycle. We both were walking with our smiles and chats to the café. I saw
her eyes a moment and I turned to the road. The whole road was glowing bright.
I closed my eyes a moment and opened again the road was normal. I decided not
to see her eyes.
Suddenly she stumbled because of a stone and she held my hand
which was on the right side of cycle’s hand bar. I took my hand allowed her to
hold the bar. I asked her, “Are you Okay?”
She nodded and
pulled the cycle and walked fast, she hurried, “I don’t know what those idiots
planned for hurry up”. I didn’t spoke anything and she was talking to herself.
Suddenly she stopped, turned to me.
“Nithish get
on the cycle we will get there by cycle”, Jeni said.
“What?” I
asked.
“Do you know
to drive with a person at back?”
“I will just
climb back”, by saying I sat on seat and kept my foot over the pedal to show
her that I was ready. My bag was on my back. She lifted it and sat over the
carrier and kept it over her lap. She grabbed my bag and said, “GO GO
FAST FAST”.
“How she
could go alone?”
“Where would they go?”
Jeni kept murmuring. “Relax, why are
you so nervous?” I asked.
“They both are alone”, she said.
“So what?”
“It’s dangerous”, she said with a
freaking tone.
“Don’t worry Madhu is with her”
“I am afraid because of Madhu”, she
said.
I laughed and asked why. She said,
“They are bad, they are uncontrollable. I am always with her just to keep her
in control”. I laughed again.
“They will do some idiotic things,
one day you were not there, we went to a park. I was playing with a kid over
there. I haven’t noticed them, a quarrelling sound reached my ears. I went to
see it, a child was crying and it was in hands of Susan, Madhu was standing
next to it. A lady was shouting that it was her son. That boy was saying Susan
as mommy and Madhu as papa. Finally I ended that quarrel”, Jeni said a story.
It was not much attractive to me but I liked to hear her talking in anger.
“How that kid called Sue as Mommy?” I
asked.
“Madhu gave that kid a chocolate and
asked him to call him papa and Susan as Mommy”, she gasped and kept her hand
over her head. I laughed, “Is it funny?” Jeni asked me.
“Kinda”, I said and laughed again.
She punched me from back over my bag. I just shook the cycle to frighten her,
as she punched me.
On the jerk of cycle, she grabbed my
shoulders instead of my bag. I applied brake all a sudden. “Are you okay?” she
asked I said yes and drove to the café. I saw Madhu and Susan sitting over the
table without talking. Jeni surprised on seeing them.
There 6 square tables all arranged
parallel in two rows. It was an open café, no walls only flower plants are
planted all around and it looks like sitting inside a garden. There was a
plastic flower placed at the center of all tables. Mostly people will buy and
they go to the nearby park for eating so mostly the tables will be empty. I saw
Madhu and Susan were sitting on opposite sides, at corner table.
Jeni sat next to Susan, and I sat
next to Madhu. I hate that day, usually I will sit along Jeni but today Susan.
“A fresh lime for me”, I opened my order.
“Shu”, Jeni kept her fore finger over
her mouth and pulled her eyebrows below. “Jeni, we need to order something”, I
said.
“As usual, an orange juice for you
and watermelon with two straws”, I said in low voice to Jeni. “I need separate
watermelon”, Susan said in anger.
“I can’t drink that stinky water,
count me for lime”, Madhu said in same tone. The waiter came and I placed the
order. I asked what the problem was to Jeni by showing hand signs. She
stretched her hands and said no.
“Susan come here I will sit there”, I
said politely. She didn’t responded to me. I asked Madhu. He said, “Ask her”
Susan told Jeni, “Ask him, I won’t”
“Nithish she always says not to talk
with Pavithra”, Madhu said by turning to me. “Then don’t talk”, I said
casually.
“Pavithra is my friend”, Madhu said.
“It will not be a problem if she was
friend”, sighed Susan.
“Jeni he is an idiot, she is not
seeing him as a friend”, Susan said. Madhu got anger, “I see her as a friend if
you want to break our relationship lets break up today”.
“Oh it is what you need, you will
leave me here and you will go with Pavithra. Is that your plan?” Susan asked in
a rough voice.
“Not only Pavithra, I will love
anyone I like but I never come to you”, Madhu said and turned other side.
Jeni stood and asked me to occupy the
next table. Susan asked, “Jeni sit, Nithish Please”, Susan politely to me and
Jeni.
“We need to discuss something about
Nithish’s crush”, Jeni said.
“Nithish has a crush?” Susan opened
her mouth in excitement. “Is that she you told me?” Madhu asked by looking over
Jeni. I said no and moved to the next table. Jeni hushed them something and
moved to the table I sat. Susan and Madhu again started to quarrel.
“Hey thank god we escaped from them”,
Jeni said
“Yeah”, I said.
“I always wanted to ask you, who is
your crush?” Jeni asked me by pouring the water in a glass near her. I had to
answer by saying Jeni Sugaina.
“I haven’t heard it from you too,
first say your crush’s name”, I asked her trickily. I knew that she will not
spell my name. So I expected an interesting name, which will be my most hateful
name from that moment. “Kathir”, she said and sat comfortably by leaning back
at chair and added, “What a name!”
This is the name I hate much, she
knew I hate that name and she spelt it just to irritate me. I got irritated but
didn’t showed up. She asked my crush name, “Her name starts with J”, I said in
low voice.
She giggled, “Are you saying me?”
I was in a confusion what to say her,
if I said yes, I was afraid of losing her friendship if she hates in that way.
My mind didn’t allowed me to lie to her. “Yuck!” I said by opening my mouth
wide.
“Hum”, she said in a low tone.
“I will show you one day”, I said.
“I am waiting”, she said.
The waiter came by, he was confused
as we changed our seats. I said, “Bro, One lime and orange here please and
other two are on that table”. He kept lime to me and orange to Jeni. He went to
Susan’s table and he served the juice there.
“What
is this?” Madhu Shouted. I leaped to see what the problem was up there. The
waiter misplaced the watermelon and lime. I hurried and replaced those glasses
in the right way. I asked the waiter not to mind it.
“You even lied to me in juice, you
told that you love watermelon but now you are saying that you can’t even sip
it”, I heard Susan’s voice in very low volume, followed by Madhu’s reply, “Even
now you are not realizing that I lied and drunk it for the sake of you, Why all
girls are behaving like”. I moved from that table and the voice faded as I sat
on my table.
“They are fighting still”, I laughed,
and Jeni haven’t laughed better. This time I sat next to Jeni. I took the glass
which was on opposite seat. She drank the juice to the half. I was stirring the
juice with the straw and I had something to say to Jeni. I wished to tell her
that I had crush on her. Finally, I decided to tell her.
I just prepared myself to speak. Jeni
interrupted me, “You haven’t say her name”.
When she insisted again I got some
trouble in saying it to her. I said, “It will be easy to spell out the name of
crush if it is not our crush”.
“Yeah I lied so what?” Jeni said and
started to drink her juice. I was looking at the level of the juice in glass,
it wasn’t going down. I suck through the straw, the juice level dropped for 1
centimeter.
After drinking a bit, I said in an
anger tone even I don’t have any anger over her, “Lied? So you are lying me all
time”. Jeni burst into laugh. I couldn’t understand what was going on.
“WHAT?”
I asked as I was in fear of making up a mess or a joke there. Her laughs calm
down a little she started to speak with a laugh, “We are fighting for lying
just like them”, by pointing to Madhu and Sue.
I grinned and made a slurp in
juice, the bubbles popped up. She closed her eyes and sighed on hearing that
sound. I repeated it. She beat me on upper left arm with a blooming smile.
While she was beating, I asked, “Are
we like them?” Jeni became silent. Her smiling face became a slightly frowning
face. I didn’t know what she understood from my words. She bent her face and
started to drink the juice.
“Like them means?” Jeni asked in a
very slowly.
“I meant about fighting”, I said on
next moment she asked but I asked for the relation they had. She said, “No, we
are not fighting”.
“We may fight tomorrow”, She said.
What she meant now? I could not
understand what she was trying to mean. Is she has any interest over me?
Otherwise I was thinking like this as I have an interest over her?
I opened up a line to confirm what
she really thinks. “Will you fight with me like this if I spoke with other
girls?”
“Why should I fight?” she cross
questioned me.
“I meant as a friend”, I tried to
correct the context of the line I opened before. “I won’t”, she said and smiled.
She dashed me with her right arm and said, “Drink the juice”.
I nodded and drank it completely with
a single gulp. She astonished on seeing me drinking like that. I told her it
was common and everyone could do it. She asked me to do it again.
I want to order a juice now just to
impress my Jeni. Suddenly, my eyes caught a full glass juice on Madhu’s table
which he haven’t drunk a bit as he was still busy in fighting. I asked Jeni to
wait a moment and I made a sneaky move and sat next to Madhu. Madhu and Susan
were still in argument and they hadn’t even noticed me next to Madhu. My hand
made a creepy move and grabbed the juice. Madhu eyes caught me when I grabbed.
He avoided it and engaged back into argument. I came back to my table with
Madhu’s juice.
Jeni giggled on seeing my activity, I
said, “Let’s do it”. She said, “No straw”. I accepted and took the glass in
hand. I took the glass and started to drink. “I love you!” she said in a husky
voice near my ears.
On hearing her voice, all my senses
lost its control. The juice I drank didn’t entered my throat inversely it came
out through nose and cough followed behind it. She started to laugh and she
tapped my head gently. She was still laughing even after my cough calmed down.
You know one thing those couple were
still in argument during while this funny thing occurred. They never think over
the surrounding when they involved in a chat.
Jeni said,
“I was just kidding don’t take it seriously”.
“I won’t”.
“Then?”
“Nothing”, I
said and added, “When will driver come to pick you guys?”
“I think
it’s about time and he may come any time”
“Does
Susan’s parents knew about their relation?” I asked.
“Does
Madhu’s parents knew?” she asked.
“I don’t
know”, I answered. She said, “Susan will say to her parents after completing
schooling, it’s what she said to me”.
By talking,
I turned to look at Madhu and Susan. Both were now consoling each other. Sue
was saying, “Madhu, Sorry I won’t get anger next time” and Madhu was saying,
“No, it’s not your fault, you did as you loved me”. Both held their hands and
started to blush by seeing each other’s face.
I turned to
Jeni, “What was they doing? They were fighting each other and now they are back
to normal”.
“It is Love”, she said.
I and Jeni
now occupied the seats near Madhu and Susan. Jeni sat next to Madhu this time
and I sat with Susan. “So?” Jeni questioned Susan. “So?” Susan requestioned
her.
“I wish to
stay with Madhu”, by saying Jeni turned to Madhu and asked, “Will you accept me
as your girlfriend?” All four of us know she was just teasing Susan. Madhu
said, “Of course Jeni I will accept you I have a girlfriend now, I will break
her relation and lets start our life then”
“Do it
soon”, Jeni said with a critic smile by looking over Susan. Susan wasn’t reacted
as they expected. She threw her hand over me and said, “I found a new boyfriend
too”. It was the first time I heard a girl saying that she loves me. I knew it
was not real but it was the first time I heard.
“Don’t take
risks Nithish”, Madhu said with a laugh. Susan started to say something, then I
interrupted.
“Its ok
dude, it’s good between me and Sue and I like watermelon juice”, by saying I
drank the watermelon juice Susan had on her side. “Aww”, Susan said by an
astonishing tone.
I saw Jeni’s
eyes her smile over face lowered a little and her naughtiness was not seen at
that time. She became calm and had an unrested eye movement. Jeni’s unrested
eyes spotted her car driver and she stood up, “Susan, Ramasamy Anna was let’s
go”.
“Going? Who
is going to pay the bill?” Madhu asked Jeni. She put on her bag and said, “It’s
your friend, who drunk 3 juices”.
Madhu and
Susan laughed. I checked my pocket, thank god I had that exact amount of money
for the juice with additional 1 rupee. We all stood at counter for paying, the
biller gave back a coin as the change, Madhu, “I take this chewing gum for
that”, by saying he took a chewing gum from a bottle nearby.
While
leaving that place Jeni, walked some distance and turned back and called me by
making a single nod. I walked slowly towards her by adjusting my half clinging
bag. She pulled a strip of my bag’s height adjuster and pulled me but I was
strong enough to stand at the same place.
“Actually”,
Jeni started and turned back and looked over Susan. She was arranging their
bags and Jeni turned back and continued, “I”, gave a break and looked at driver
who was leaning over the steering.
“Is there
anything important otherwise we can speak tomorrow”, I told. She nodded and get
back to car. After waving good byes we took our cycles and started to ride.
On the way
to home, I asked Madhu, “Did you told Mom about your relation?”
“She already
knew it, I have said that indirectly and I have planned to introduce Susan only
after schools”, he said.
“In college
you guys may separate”, I asked doubtfully. He made a silence pedals for a few
distance and said, “We have planned for choosing the same college”.
I didn’t
asked much, I just wanted to know the answer which I could not answer when Jeni
asked me. I wished to say her that Madhu had indirectly told his mom about
their relationship but I was excited about the important thing that she was
about to tell.
I reached
home, Mom made some snack for me, I told her that I had enough snack and my
tummy was full. She force me to have a cup of Horlicks. I have told about Jeni
and Susan to my mother but haven’t mentioned her about Madhu’s relation and my
crush was Jeni. She asked me to take them home one day.
I went to my
room and turned on my PC and logged into my FB profile. I opened the messages,
Jeni haven’t sent any messages. I was not receiving any messages at that time,
but I stayed online just to hear that important news.
I could not
wait over for a long time, I sent a message, ‘What’s that important message’.
I waited for the reply, I received it after fifteen to twenty minutes.

On seeing
her message saying that she hates me talking to other girls I was the happiest
person. I smiled all alone in my room. I send laugh emoji without a break and I
insisted her that I would talk with every girl suddenly she burst into anger and
went offline.
I waited for
her, she came online in minutes but she didn’t replied for an hour. Suddenly
she came online and messaged, “No one need to wait for my message I am
going to sleep”
She had been seeing me online for all
the time and hadn’t replied me. I turned off my computer and jumped over my
bed. By hopping I fell over the bed and was panting for five minutes. I closed
my eyes, the doll in the store which I saw while purchasing gift for Susan came
to my mind. The yellow t-shirt with blue jean like pant half knelt with a blood
red rose and the Cinderella costumed angel like girl and whose hands are
covering the mouth and her eyes was looking over the flower.
I wished to buy that next day and to
propose Jeni as I thought she was interested in me too. I didn’t wished to ask
Susan as I was bold this time. That night I thought about the moments I had
with Jeni on first met and giggled. I was rolling all over the bed restlessly
and sleeplessly.
After sometime I slept well with the
best memories of possessiveness and three glass of juices.
